Harewood Lodge is located in the up-market suburb of Nahoon Mouth. This large family home offers a real “home away from home” experience. The B&B was built in the 1920’s and was renovated in 2004 and is located less than 1 kilometer from East London’s Nahoon beach and river. We are 15 minutes from the East London airport and we are less than 10 minutes drive from major shopping centers, sporting facilities, restaurants, outdoor activities and the East London museum, the home of the Coelecanth. We are 4 star accommodation, where guests arrive as guests and leave as our friends.

Each room is equipped with its own DSTV (satellite television), so that you may choose your own channels. Our accommodation is semi self catering and includes microwaves, cutlery, crockery, kettles and bar fridges. Tea and coffee making facilities are also available in the rooms. We also offer air conditioning in 4 of our rooms. Special rates are available for sporting teams, church and family groups. Please request a quote. There is also a private area for braai’s / barbeques or entertaining.

Our breakfasts are substantial. Our guests enjoy the choice of either a Continental or English breakfast in our dining room. Fresh fruit salad, pastries, muffins and home-made breads are prepared with a selection of cheeses, cold meats, cereals, fruit juices, tea, not to mention our freshly filtered coffee. Dinner is also available on request, with an HONESTY BAR downstairs in the lounge for further refreshments.

Harewood Lodge has a great rooftop, which boasts a 360 degree panoramic view of the East London golf course, Nahoon beach and river mouth. We offer a complimentary drink on your arrival to help you feel right at home.Harewood Lodge has baby-sitters on site, should mom and dad require a night out. Some of our guest house accommodation have two rooms, which is ideal for guests with children. Our guest house accommodation offers it’s own entrance to two bedrooms, ideal for families, with an extra room for your children.

East London Museum

Established in 1921 and considered to be one of the most interesting natural and cultural history museums in the country, the East London Museum features a number of fine exhibits, including the type specimen of the coelacanth, a fish previously believed to have become extinct some 80 million years ago, together with an extensive collection of beadwork relating to the Xhosa-speaking people.

Nahoon Beach

Nahoon Beach is East London's most popular beach and is named after a local Xhosa chief. It is home to the East London Surf Life Saving Club with kilometres of un-crowded, un-polluted sand to the north and a rocky point to the south which has a constructed boardwalk reaching all the way round to Nahoon Corner giving one a bird's eye view of the famous Nahoon Reef surf spot.

Lion Park

Python Park

The East London Zoo is located in the Queens Park Zoological Gardens close to the city centre. The zoo is financed and managed by Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM). Apart from the animals, the zoo and gardens contains a treasure trove of flora and fauna, some of which is only found in the Eastern Cape.

Aquarium

Situated on the South East coast of South Africa in the City of East London. The East London Aquarium was officially opened on the 2nd of December 1931, which makes it the oldest public aquarium in the country. This is not a big aquarium, but some unique displays make it a must see. The aquarium plays an active role in conserving the coastline and the estuaries in the East London area.
